Director of Iranian Central Bank resigns

December 30, Fineko/abc.az. The director of the National Bank of Iran, Ali Salehabadi, has resigned, ABC.AZ reports quoting CBA spokesman Vafa Kamari.

The board of the financial institution accepted the resignation of Ali Salehabadi and elected Mohammad Farzini as the new head.

Kamari added that the main reason for his resignation was the rapid depreciation of the Iranian national currency.

For reference, currently 1 US dollar is exchanged for 43,000 tumans.

Mohammedza Farzini has been working at the National Bank since 2021. He was the CEO of the Bank of Entrepreneurs from 2019 to 2021 and chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank.
