U.S. bank Wells Fargo fined

December 21, Fineko/abc.az. U.S. bank Wells Fargo will pay more than $2 bn in compensation to consumers and $1.7 bn in fines for violations, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Along with the offenses affecting the accounts of more than 16 million consumers, the bank incorrectly calculated interest payments on mortgage and car loans, as a result of which some borrowers lost their homes and cars. Wells Fargo also illegally charged increased overdraft fees on credit cards from customers.
