September 28, Fineko/abc.az. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni welcomed the decision of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) to limit fuel prices in the country.

Meloni shared this on her account on social network X.

She noted that following the Italian company Eni, SOCAR's subsidiary, Italiana Petroli (IP), also decided to introduce an upper limit on fuel prices throughout the country.

Meloni stressed that this step is an important indicator of attention to Italian families and will make a concrete contribution to reducing fuel costs.

She expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf for the decision.

The PM added that under the current difficult international conditions, the Italian government will continue its activities aimed at supporting families and protecting their purchasing power.
