April 15, Fineko/abc.az. As of 1 April 2022, 31,300 people worked in the oil & gas sector of the economy, and 1.65 million people worked in the non-oil sector.

ABC.AZ reports that 23.2% of employees employed in enterprises and organizations are engaged in the production of products, including 7.3% in the processing industry, 7.0% in construction, 3.5% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 1.9% in mining, 1.9% in water supply, waste treatment and recycling, 1.6% in the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam.

Of those who work in the service sector, 19.8% in education, 18.8% in trade; vehicle repair, 8.1% in health and social services to the population, 6.7% in public administration and defense; social security, 5.1% in provision of administrative and support services, 4.4% in transport and warehousing, 3.4% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 3.2% in recreation, entertainment and art, 1.9% in financial and insurance activities, 1.7% in information and communication, 1.7% in tourist accommodation and catering, 1.1% in provision of services in other areas and 0.9% in real estate transactions.
