11-12 million people may be out of work in Russia

March 10, Fineko/abc.az. According to preliminary estimates, 4.5 million Russian citizens worked in companies that left Russia, ceasing their activities in this country. But Russians working with these companies under subcontracts and other agreements – a total of 11-12 million people - may be out of work, ABC.AZ reports, citing expert economist Natig Jafarli.

"Another problem is that about 5 million Russian citizens earned money from renting in the business segment of real estate - and now large shopping centers, shops and offices will be empty. On the other hand, more than 15 million Russians made a profit by renting their homes and houses in different cities to foreigners – the risk that foreigners will leave, and migrants living in Russia and earning a living in neighboring countries will return to their countries, will lead to the fact that they will remain without income. That is, a sharp decline in incomes (directly and indirectly) of 30-35 million Russian citizens is expected," the expert said.
