February 25, Fineko/abc.az. "Heart surgeries in Azerbaijan are included in the package of mandatory medical insurance services," ABC.AZ reports, citing Zaur Aliyev, the chairman of the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance.

"The MHI service package contained more than 2,500 services. It took into account the most common diseases that lead to more deaths. After a year of work, we saw that there were no heart surgeries, heart valve replacement surgeries. These are operations that require quite a lot of money. Therefore, we’ve also included them in the package of new services. Currently, this issue is under approval, and after it passes through several ministries, the Cabinet Ministers will approve it," the chairman said.
