February 10, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has prepared proposals to regulate the local market of medicines.

ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musayev said this at today’s briefing.

According to Musayev, one of the main indicators of the quality of medical services provided is the availability of effective medicines at an affordable price: "Local pharmaceutical production, along with increasing the availability of medicines, forms scientific and technical skills and makes the healthcare system more resistant to external influences."

The Commission for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Sector, established by the relevant decree of the Cabinet Ministers, is tasked to improve the policy and management mechanisms in the field of medicines, including improving registration procedures, increasing local production of pharmaceutical products, etc.

"In the near future, based on the results of the Commission's work, proposals will be submitted to regulate the local market of medicines," he said.
