April 1, Fineko/abc.az. The World Health Organization (WHO) says that 70% of the world's population must be vaccinated to end the pandemic.

ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made by TƏBIB Disease Prevention & Control Department’s head Yagut Garayeva.

She noted that this is scientific data: "Initially, we signed a contract with GAVI to vaccinate 10% of our population. Then we signed an agreement to purchase 4 million doses of vaccine in China through Turkey to vaccinate another 10% of the population. This process continues. Today, under a new contract for 5 million doses, 500,000 doses of Coronovac vaccine were delivered to Azerbaijan from China. Thus, the number of vaccines we will receive from China will be 9 million doses.

In addition, vaccines from GAVI will be delivered. It is not yet known when Sputnik V vaccine will be available. We intend to vaccinate the entire population over the age of 18."
