December 21, Fineko/abc.az. Oil prices are decreasing on Monday amid the data about the detection of a new type of coronavirus in the UK. This could lead to new lockdowns and slow the economic recovery.

By 9:20 am, at the London ICE Futures Exchange the price of February’s Brent crude oil futures collapsed by $1.55 (2.97%) to $50.71 per barrel. At the end of trading on 18 December the Brent futures for February rose in price by $0.76 (1.48%) up to $52.26 per barrel.

By 9:20 am, at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) the WTI oil futures for January fell in price by $1.42 (2.89%) to $47.68 per barrel. At the end of trading on 18 December the WTI oil futures for January rose by $0.74 (1.53%) up to $49.10 per barrel.
