June 23, Fineko/abc.az. The EU-funded project Solidarity for Health Initiative, implemented by the WHO regional office for Europe, has been launched in six Eastern Partnership countries - Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.

ABC.AZ reports that the goal of the project is to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus in the above-said countries, its detection and response, including strengthening the capacity of Eastern neighbors to deal with public health emergencies.

The project will last two years. This long-term EUR 30.5 million worth project will help strengthen public health emergency preparedness, coordination, virus detection and response, and ensure the sustainability of the local health system.
