September 21, Fineko/abc.az. Major news organizations CNN, MS NOW (formerly MSNBC), and Politico filed a joint lawsuit against the Trump administration on Monday following the revocation of their journalists' White House press credentials. The legal challenge, submitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, aims to restore access to the White House complex after Secret Service officers deactivated and seized reporters' badges over the weekend.

In a joint statement, the plaintiffs argued that the ban directly violates their First Amendment rights guaranteeing freedom of the press. "We are filing a lawsuit today to defend the principle that the government does not decide what the press reports or publishes," the outlets declared, urging the court to issue an emergency injunction.

The ban was originally announced by President Donald Trump on Friday via Truth Social, where he accused the outlets of publishing "fake news". Defending his administration's position on Monday, Trump rejected claims of suppressing press freedom, asserting that the White House is taking a stand against "corrupt and uncontrolled fake news".
