Kremlin Seizes Nestlé Assets: Swiss Giant Weighs All Response Options

September 18, Fineko/abc.az. Swiss food giant Nestlé announced it is evaluating all strategic and legal options after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree placing its Russian assets under temporary state management.

Nestlé affirmed its commitment to taking all necessary measures under international law to protect its corporate rights, employees, and asset value.

Under the decree, management of Nestlé's Russian footprint was handed to a Moscow-registered entity, AO L.E.V. Management. Russia accounts for roughly 2% of Nestlé's global sales (2 billion Swiss francs).

Financial analysts estimate that losing operational control could result in an asset write-down of approximately 1 billion Swiss francs ($1.18 billion) for the corporation.
