September 17, Fineko/abc.az. The market share of fully electric vehicles (BEVs) in new car sales across 16 European countries rose to 30.5 percent in August.

According to a joint report by Brussels-based E-Mobility Europe and independent research firm New AutoMotive, 202,833 new fully electric cars were registered in these markets in August—a 54.2 percent increase year-on-year. The projected electric market share across the European Union reached 31.2 percent.

Year-to-date registration figures from January through August surged by 33.1 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,673,856 units and capturing a 22.5 percent market share. Growth was spearheaded by France (registrations up 72.2%, market share 38.3%) and Germany (68,980 registrations, market share 32.5%). Norway led overall adoption with fully electric cars accounting for 98.7% of new sales, followed by Denmark (85.9%), Finland (52.3%), and the Netherlands (48.9%).
