Microsoft Outlines New Governance Rules for Future AI Models

21:52 - 14.09.2026

September 14, Fineko/abc.az. Microsoft has published a draft code of conduct titled "Humanist AI Code of Conduct" to ensure future artificial intelligence models operate safely under human oversight.

The rules explicitly restrict AI systems from assisting in weapons manufacturing, facilitating access to hazardous materials, or generating violent and sexually explicit content. The move follows recent calls by industry leaders at Anthropic and OpenAI for stricter control over AI capabilities.

The company will collect public feedback on the proposal for six weeks, with a revised version planned for year-end. Starting in 2027, the finalized code will serve as a foundational benchmark guiding Microsoft's internal AI development pipelines.
