September 11, Fineko/abc.az. As part of the taxation of the digital economy in Azerbaijan, three more international technology giants - OpenAI, Zoom and Zoho - are officially registered for tax purposes in Azerbaijan through the electronic tax system of the State Tax Service electronic portal.

VAT registration for these companies will take effect on September 1, 2026.

The threshold of $10,000: according to the amendments to the Tax Code, non-resident digital service providers whose annual turnover in the country exceeds $10,000 are subject to mandatory e-registration.

Registered companies will independently calculate and pay VAT to the budget.

In this case, local banks will not additionally deduct VAT from user payments.

The new mechanism is aimed at simplifying the fulfillment of tax obligations and increasing transparency in the digital services sector.
