September 2, Fineko/abc.az. Uber Technologies is eliminating approximately 3,300 jobs, representing roughly 10% of its global workforce, as part of a major restructuring aimed at reducing management layers.
According to Bloomberg News, CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced the cuts in an internal email, explaining that rapid expansion in recent years led to excessive corporate layers and operational fragmentation.
The overhaul will reduce overall management roles by 20%, transition select managers to individual contributor positions, and integrate distinct operations groups for restaurants, retail, and delivery. The company plans to reinvest the generated savings into future growth initiatives, core operations, and autonomous vehicle technologies.
