September 1, Fineko/abc.az. The State Service for Control over Water Use and Protection under the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan (ADSEA) has announced the rules for granting permits for special water use.

Under Presidential Decree No. 403 dated June 4, 2025, authority to issue permits was assigned to ADSEA, with the formal regulation approved by Decree No. 554 on December 18, 2025. The requirements apply to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs utilizing specialized equipment and facilities for water intake or discharge.

To obtain authorization, entrepreneurs must submit an application to the State Service for Control over Water Use and Protection. The review process involves evaluating the availability of requested water volumes while preserving ecological flow, alongside analyzing wastewater composition. Permits are granted for short-term or long-term periods in accordance with Article 32 of the Water Code, depending on the water body's capacity and environmental status.
