August 31, Fineko/abc.az. Swedish automaker Volvo Cars announced on Monday that it will close its Stockholm office as part of a broader efficiency drive to streamline operations and cut costs.
The Stockholm office, which currently employs 450 staff and focuses on digital tools and software development, is scheduled to shutter by March 1, 2027. All operational responsibilities will be consolidated into the company's headquarters in Gothenburg. According to the carmaker, concentrating resources at fewer Swedish sites will help reduce operational complexity and accelerate cross-functional collaboration.
This move aligns with Volvo Cars' ongoing cost-reduction program aimed at strengthening competitiveness in a challenging global market environment.
