July 22, Fineko/abc.az. US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and AI startup Anthropic have signed a strategic deal worth tens of billions of dollars.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Anthropic will deploy up to 2 gigawatts of AMD’s next-generation Instinct MI450 chips starting in the first half of 2027. As part of the agreement, AMD will also make an equity investment of up to $5 billion in Anthropic.

Furthermore, the two companies are launching a multi-year engineering collaboration to utilize Anthropic's Claude models to optimize AMD's software performance.
