14:50 - 20.07.2026

July 20, Fineko/abc.az. Following the trilateral talks in the Iranian city of Mashhad, representatives of the transport departments of Tajikistan, Iran and Afghanistan signed a protocol on the launch of a new joint road transport corridor.

According to the agreements reached, cargo transportation between Iran and Tajikistan will be carried out in transit through the territory of Afghanistan.

To test the operation of customs procedures, border control, and service interaction, it is planned to carry out the first test road rally in the next month, as well as to create a permanent working group to eliminate administrative barriers.

The launch of the route is intended to accelerate the delivery of goods, expand trade and economic cooperation, and eventually provide access to other Central Asian countries and China.
