Average fixed broadband internet speed in Azerbaijan declined

July 16, Fineko/abc.az. In June 2026, Azerbaijan dropped by one position compared to May and took the 84th place out of 149 countries in terms of the average fixed broadband internet speed (92.18 Mbps).

According to the Speedtest Global Index, the average fixed broadband internet speed in the country has increased by 13.3% compared to a year ago (81.36 Mbps).

With these figures, Azerbaijan surpassed Turkey (84.25 Mbps), Iran (24.90 Mbps), Georgia (50.83 Mbps), Armenia (91.69 Mbps), Kazakhstan (89.19 Mbps), Kyrgyzstan (89.30 Mbps), and Tajikistan (49.92 Mbps).

As for the speed of fixed broadband internet, last month Singapore took the first place (447.75 Mbps) and Afghanistan took the last place (5.18 Mbps).

Last month, Azerbaijan moved up 5 positions in the ranking of mobile internet speed, taking 46th place out of 98 countries with speed of 98.61 Mbps.

The UAE (672.87 Mbps) took the 1st place in terms of mobile internet speed, while Bolivia (16.55 Mbps) took the last place.

In the reporting month, Baku's position in the ranking of fixed broadband internet speed decreased by 2 steps compared to the previous month, and the city took the 114th place out of 191 cities with speed of 92.34 Mbps.

In the ranking of fixed broadband internet speed, the 1st place was occupied by the city of Valparaíso (425.84 Mbps). The last place was taken by Herat (3.99 Mbps).

The capital of Azerbaijan, which maintained its position in the ranking of mobile internet speed compared to the previous month, rose 4 positions and took the 78th place out of 145 cities with speed of 119.04 Mbps.

Al Rayyan (Qatar) (659.91 Mbps) had the fastest mobile internet speed among cities, while La Paz (Bolivia) (14.94 Mbps) had the slowest.
