July 16, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 4 years, US companies have lost approx. $200 bn because of the restrictive measures.
Robert Agee, the president and CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Russia, says that confusion and panic arose among Western entrepreneurs in Russia immediately after the start of the military operation in Ukraine. However, AmCham insisted on maintaining calm and advised against making hasty decisions.
Agee noted that Western companies were not eager to leave the Russian market. It remains attractive, stable, and rapidly growing for them. In addition, Russia offers good opportunities for establishing ties with Central and Middle Asian countries.
"This is why it has always been important for American companies to localize their production in Russia and build factories and plants in your country. For example, one of our companies has 12 subsidiaries in Russia, spread across different regions," the AmCham head added.
