July 15, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan and Slovakia plan to launch a direct flight between Baku and Bratislava in the near future,

Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said, when delivering speech at the Azerbaijan-Slovakia Business Forum.

According to the minister, the opening of direct air traffic will be an important step for development of business ties, interaction between governments, as well as expanding contacts between citizens of the two countries.

"We are looking forward to the soon-to-be-launched direct flights between our capitals, and we are looking forward to doing so in a spirit of friendship. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this project, both on the Azerbaijani and Slovak sides," Jabbarov said.

The minister also emphasized that Azerbaijan and Slovakia have significant potential for further development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
