Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia create a single model for Middle Corridor

June 24, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia are working over creation of a single model for the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).

ABC.AZ reports that the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, said this during a meeting with the head of the largest shipping company Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), Eduard Zigrist.

According to the Kazakh leader, the countries continue to implement important infrastructure initiatives, including joint projects with Azerbaijan on deepening the Caspian Sea and increasing the capacity of the cargo fleet.

Tokayev also noted MSC's substantive interest in investing in the port infrastructure of the Caspian region, which will enhance the competitiveness of the Middle Corridor and increase the volume of container cargo transportation between Asia and Europe.
