June 16, Fineko/abc.az. Despite the volatility in the global economic environment, Azerbaijan's foreign trade balance ended the first quarter of 2026 with positive balance.
ABC.AZ informs, referring to CBA’s official balance of payments report, that country's foreign trade turnover amounted to $9.9 bn. As a result of the outstripping dynamics of exports over imports, surplus of $2 bn was formed in country’s foreign trade balance.
The structure of trade turnover by sector:
Oil & gas sector: According to Central Bank’s statistics, the oil & gas segment recorded an impressive surplus of $4.7 bn in the first 3 months of the year.
Non-oil sector and exports: The non-oil/gas sector has trade deficit of $2.7 bn. At the same time, non-oil exports from Azerbaijan from Jan-Mar 2026 reached $813 million (approx. $800 million).
