June 10, Fineko/abc.az. Meta Platforms has partnered with Reliance Industries for construction of India's first 168 MW AI data center in Jamnagar.
ABC.AZ reports that the facility will be built by Reliance and leased to Meta with the possibility of expansion.
India is strengthening its position as a key technology market: Amazon and Microsoft previously announced investments of $52 billion, much of which is aimed at developing infrastructure for AI.
Another major AI deal in India was the partnership between OpenAI and the Tata conglomerate. The companies have agreed to build a data center with initial capacity of 100 MW and prospect of expansion up to 1 gigawatt. It is estimated that the cost of a 1 GW data center could be $35-50 billion.
