June 3, Fineko/abc.az. Work is underway in Azerbaijan on the creation of information system Digital Trade Hub.
ABC.AZ informs that Ayten Turabova, Head of the International Transport Operations Sector of the Transport Policy Department of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, made the above-said statement at the II Caspian International Forum on Transport, Transit and Logistics in Baku.
According to Turabova, the ongoing infrastructure projects continue to strengthen Azerbaijan's position as a regional transit center.
"At the same time, the sustainability and competitiveness of transport corridors passing through the country's territory depend not only on the physical infrastructure, but also on the level of digitalization. That is why work continues on the implementation of digital solutions and modern procedures in the transport system," she said.
Turabova recalled that one of the important steps in this direction was the adoption of a presidential decree providing for the digitalization of import, export, transit and logistics procedures.
"This document creates a solid legal and institutional framework for the introduction of paperless procedures, the integration of digital platforms, as well as the unification of all participants in the transport and logistics chain in a single system. Currently, within this decree, work is underway on the creation of Digital Trade Hub (Single Window). This system will unite freight forwarders, cargo owners, government agencies and business representatives in a single digital space," she emphasized.
