June 1, Fineko/abc.az. The European Union has fined Chinese marketplace Temu for €200 million (approx. $232 million) for insufficient control over goods sold through the platform.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the European Commission that illegal goods were systematically sold on the trading platform, including dangerous children's toys and chargers that did not meet strict EU safety requirements.
The European Commission stated that company's management had failed to provide an effective system for identifying and assessing the risks associated with proliferation of potentially dangerous and counterfeit products.
