May 26, Fineko/abc.az. Gazprom has found a potential buyer for satellite plant Gazprom SPKA, which could be Novy Start, with plans to close the deal by the end of 2026.
ABC.AZ reports that the asset is considered non-core and economically weak: with revenue of approx. 136 million rubles, the figures remain disproportionate to investments. The cost of the plant is estimated at 15-40 billion rubles, more often - nearly 20 billion rubles.
For Novy Start, which is led by former Roscosmos top manager Alexander Bloshenko, this is a chance to quickly create a vertically integrated space business with the use of a ready-made production base.
The deal fits into broader plans for development of the private space sector in Russia, but the key risk remains a shortage of orders, without which even a high-tech plant may be underutilized.
