Average price of a ton of cotton exported by Azerbaijan was $1,372

May 18, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st quarter of 2026, country’s cotton fiber exports amounted to 41,700 tons (55.9% more against Jan-Mar 2025 - 26,700 tons).

ABC.AZ reports that the value of exports reached $57.1 million versus $39.5 million a year earlier (a rise of 44.6%).

The average price per ton was $1,372, while in 2025 it was $1,478 (a drop of 7.2%).

Exports to Turkey reached amounted to 40.5 thousand tons, an increase of 63.5% compared to 24,779 tons a year earlier. At the same time, Turkey remains the main buyer.

Azerbaijan exported 1,023 tons to Iran (50.5% more than last year's 680 tons).

Exports to Russia totaled 126 tons, which can be considered a new market compared to zero a year earlier.

While 1,263 tons of cotton were shipped to Turkmenistan for Jan-Mar 2025, there were no exports to this country this year.
