May 4, Fineko/abc.az. Baku Shipyard LLC will construct two vessels for KTZ Express Shipping (Kazakhstan), part of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Ruslan Talibov, chairman of board of the enterpirse.
He added that the technical parameters of the ships under construction have already been determined.
"This order, being the 2nd international project of the Baku Shipyard, confirms the further strengthening of company's position as a reliable partner in the global market. The contract stipulates construction of 2 dry-cargo container ships. Within the project, total length of each vessel will be 140.97 m, width - 16.9 m, and side height - 6.80 m," he said.
The chair added that the draft of ships in marine conditions will be 5.56 m, and in river conditions - 3.60 m: "Carrying capacity is to be around 9,900 tons at sea and 5,057 tons in river conditions. Container's capacity will be 537 TEU at sea and 433 TEU in the river. The ships will be equipped with two main engines with capacity of 1600 kW each and will be able to travel at speed of about 11 knots. This order once again demonstrates the shipyard’s high technical capabilities and international competitiveness."
