May 4, Fineko/abc.az. On May 3, a plane carrying out a direct flight from Belgrade to Baku landed at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

ABC.AZ informs that the first flight between the two cities was carried out by Air Serbia.

Flights are to be operated twice a week: from Belgrade on Wednesdays and Sundays, from Baku on Thursdays and Sundays.

The route promotes development of tourism and business relations by expanding air links between Azerbaijan and Europe. And the current visa-free regime between the two countries makes travel more affordable and increases interest in the destination.

The passengers of the first flight were greeted by the traditional water arch ceremony upon landing at the airport. Within the event, memorable gifts reflecting the culture of Azerbaijan were presented.

The official ceremony was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani government, the Serbian delegation and the management of Air Serbia.
