April 30, Fineko/abc.az. DHL Group reported a higher-than-expected operating profit in the 1st quarter due to strong results from the Express division and increased free cash flow.

ABC.AZ informs that as a result, operating profit (EBIT) amounted to €1.48 billion against the forecast of €1.38 billion, and free cash flow more than doubled analysts' expectations.

At the same time, revenue decreased to €20.42 billion and fell short of forecasts due to currency pressure and weak results from Global Forwarding and eCommerce.

The best performance was demonstrated by the Express division, where EBIT increased by 20.6%, while Global Forwarding showed a decline in profits and lower revenues amid falling transportation tariffs.
