April 15, Fineko/abc.az. Latvia is ready to act as a "gateway" for Azerbaijani goods to enter the European market, including integrated e-commerce solutions and logistics centers.
ABC.AZ informs that Latvian Minister of Agriculture Armands Krausen stated this at the 9th meeting of the Azerbaijani-Latvian Intergovernmental Commission.
He emphasized the strategic importance of bilateral relations and the symbolic significance of the meeting in Shusha:
"It is a great honor for me to be in Shusha, which has special significance for Azerbaijan. We highly appreciate strengthening and expansion of our relations with Azerbaijan, based on the strategic partnership established in 2017. I see significant potential for further cooperation in agriculture and forestry. Azerbaijan's recognition of the Latvian food safety control system creates a reliable basis for further development of cooperation in the agricultural and food sector."
The minister also noted that Latvia can become a logistics center for Azerbaijan on its way to Europe: "The transport sector plays the role of a link between economic cooperation and specific business activities.
Krausen suggested creating a new platform for establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs: "I would like to emphasize the importance of establishing the Latvian-Azerbaijani Business Cooperation Council, which can become an effective platform for strengthening business ties. Predictable, transparent and business-friendly environment remains a key priority."
