April 7, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Mar 2026, 51.747 million manats were returned to the population of Azerbaijan within the framework of the VAT Refund Project.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the State Tax Service, the figure is a 13% rise versus Jan-Mar 2025, when 46.9 million manats were returned to consumers.

As part of the project, consumers will receive a refund of part of the VAT paid when purchasing goods from retailers and public catering in the country (with the exception of oil and gas products, cars, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products), as well as for tickets to theatrical productions and film screenings, visits to museums and concerts of the symphony orchestra, services of medical institutions and private medical practical training, as well as overnight and accommodation services in hotels located in the occupation-liberated territories, paid for through authorized banks.

In addition, the amount of VAT refunded to foreign citizens within the tax free system for goods bought for personal consumption in the country amounted to 2.63 million manats.

Thus, for Jan-Mar 2026, more than 53.8 million manats were returned to consumers as part of the VAT Refund Project.
