Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover for January reaches $3.09 bn

March 17, Fineko/abc.az. In January 2026, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totaled $3.092 bn, resulting in positive trade balance of $487.7 million.

This January, compared with January 2025, an increase was recorded on some types of products with higher share of imports, ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Thus, imports of wheat increased by 49.9%, vegetable oils by 9.0%, buses 2.7-fold, ferrous metal pipes by 33.7%, polyethylene by 72.5%.

At the same time, there was observed decline on imports of some products. Thus, imports of fresh fruits decreased by 3.6%, butter, other dairy fats and pastes by 26.7%, medicines by 44.5%, rolled steel by 15.4%, computers, blocks and devices by 22.2%.

In January 2026, exports of non-oil and gas products totaled $268.4 million (15.0% of overall exports). This indicator grew by 9.1% in real terms versus January 2025, but decreased by 20.7% in real terms.

Legal entities and individuals of Azerbaijan carried out trade operations with their partners in 128 countries around the world. During this period, the country exported products to 81 countries, while imports were carried out from 122 countries.
