December 30, Fineko/abc.az. At the auction in London, cocoa futures showed the strongest growth since October. This was caused by signs of slowdown in exports from Côte d'Ivoire, the world's largest cocoa supplier.
ABC.AZ informs that cocoa futures grew in price by 7.1%.
In Côte d'Ivoire, farmers delivered 59,708 tons of cocoa to ports in the week ended December 28 (27% less versus the 2024 same term).
The volume of cocoa beans entering ports is considered the main indicator for estimating the overall volume of shipments.
Recently, this indicator has decreased compared with the peak recorded in November. Weekly shipments for three consecutive weeks in that period exceeded 100,000 tons. This is significantly less than projected 134,000 tons in September.
Bank’s forecasts say that the price of cocoa in 3 months will be $5,500 per ton, and in 12 months - $5,700 per ton.
According to Citi forecasts, Arabica coffee will cost $3.60 per pound in three months and $3 in 12 months.
