December 18, Fineko/abc.az. The priority is to create assay laboratories in Azerbaijan that meet modern requirements, equip them with facilities on international standards, and strengthen qualified human resources.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to the State Agency for Antimonopoly Supervision & Consumer Market Control under the Presidential Administration, that it was informed about this at a meeting with a delegation of the Azerbaijan Jewelers Association.

The meeting was also attended by reps of business entities representing various large jewelry facilities and manufacturing industries in the country.

With the participation of Ilgar Hasanov, adviser to the chairman at the Agency, and Togrul Abbaskuliyev, chairman of board at the Association, broad exchange of views was held on the development of quality infrastructure in the country, in particular on the formation of an assay control system. Detailed information was provided on the work done by the agency in connection with the organization of on-site control, as well as on measures taken to create a logistical base.

During the discussions, issues of the legal framework of the assay mechanism, as well as testing and branding of precious metal products were considered. It was noted that the steps taken in this direction will contribute to creating a favorable environment for market participants in the jewelry sector, protecting consumer rights and creating a healthy competitive environment.
