These states lower cotton purchases in Azerbaijan

December 18, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan’s cotton exports for Jan-Oct 2025 totaled close to 96,280 tons for $141.34 million (106,450 tons for $160.42 million for Jan-Oct 2024).

ABC.AZ informs that overall exports dropped by about 9.55% and the value of exports by 11.89% against Jan-Oct 2024. This year, the export of Azərpambıq Agroindustrial Complex LLC, which sells cotton abroad, reached $33.3 million (Jan-Oct 2024 - $46.7 million). Prime Cotton LLC sold products for approx. $95.2 million (Jan-Oct 2024 - $87.3 million).

The main export market exports to Turkey totaled around 91,820 tons for $133.7 million. And in 2024, exports to this country amounted to 91,460 tons for $133.61 million, which is considered almost stable.

A sharp drop was recorded in the Turkmen direction. In 2025, exports to this country reached about 1,990 tons for $3.94 million. And in 2024, the figures amounted to 10,260 tons for $19.89 million. Compared to Jan-Oct 2024, exports fell by 80.60% and the value by 80.19%.

Exports to Russia in 2025 totaled 1,260 tons for $1.86 million and in 2024 - only 20 tons for $30,000.

Exports to the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2025 amounted to 1,110 tons for $1.71 million. In 2024, these figures reached 2,670 tons for $3.74 million. As a result, exports to Iran declined by 58.43% year-on-year, while the value of exports by 54.28%.

Bangladesh is not buying cotton fiber from Azerbaijan this year. However, during the previous period, exports of roughly 2,040 tons for $3.15 million were registered. Bulgaria became a new market in 2025, and exports to this country totaled 100 tons for $140,000.
