October 24, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is experiencing difficulties in the digitalization of small and medium-sized businesses.
ABC.AZ reports that Orkhan Mammadov, the chairman of board of the Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Businesses under the Ministry of Economy, made this statement at international conference "SOCGOV 2025: Artificial Intelligence for Humans & Transformation", held in Baku.
According to Mammadov, small and medium-sized businesses need government support in the process of digital transformation: "Digitalization and the introduction of artificial intelligence occupy an important place on the agenda of small and medium-sized enterprises. But we must take into account that more than 99% of companies registered in our country are small businesses, and many of them have limited financial resources. For this reason, there is a slight lag in digitalization and the introduction of artificial intelligence compared to large companies. This task is especially difficult for entrepreneurs working in the regions."
Mammadov stressed that the main goal in the framework of close cooperation with government agencies is for small and medium-sized businesses to really feel the support of the state in the process of digital transformation and to pass this stage without great difficulties.
