October 9, Fineko/abc.az. Some institutions do not provide even the most minimal legal requirements for cybersecurity.
ABC.AZ informs that Davud Rustamov, the head of the National Cybersecurity Center of the State Security Service, made this statement at a conference organized as part of the Cyber Competition for the Protection of Critical Infrastructure (CIDC-2025).
He added that if these requirements are met, the risk in the field of cybersecurity in Azerbaijan can be reduced by half:
"In Azerbaijan, only large business entities are included in this area. But there are also risks for small and medium-sized businesses. Cybersecurity requirements are the lowest. The presence of subjects who are still unable to meet the minimum requirements is an indicator of a shortage in this area."
Center’s head pointed out that Azerbaijan is taking measures to develop Smart Cities:
"If we are talking about maintaining security in this area, more extensive measures should already be taken. The education system, including ANAS, should have related research topics. It is necessary to work with the competent authorities, the private-public sector, NGOs should show interest in this work."
