September 24, Fineko/abc.az. There has been a significant drop in prices for Arabica coffee to the lowest levels since August 2025.
ABC.AZ reports that this is evidenced by trading data at the ICE Exchange.
The price of December’s futures for Arabica coffee beans at the minimum of trading decreased by 4.88%, reaching $3.49 per pound ($7.7 per kg). The drop in quotations accelerated after Trump's announcement of an upcoming meeting with the Brazilian leader, which increased investors' hopes for progress in trade negotiations and a potential easing of shortage of coffee supplies to the U.S.
At the end of July 2025, the Trump administration imposed 50% duties on imports of a range of goods from Brazil, including coffee. These measures have raised fears of a sharp rise in prices for American consumers, as Brazilian Arabica accounts for about 35-40% of coffee consumed in the U.S.
