September 18, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, local potato chip production increased in Azerbaijan, and purchases from abroad declined.

ABC.AZ informs that in the first 7 months of 2025, the import of potato chips to Azerbaijan from abroad amounted to 2,621 tons (5% less versus Jan-Jul 2024). In value terms, imports totaled approx $9 million and increased by 7% against Jan-Jul 2024.

Despite the drop in import volumes, a rise in the total amount is linked with higher prices. As for the average price, in 2024 the cost of a ton was about $3,010, and in 2025 this figure exceeded $3,400.
