September 15, Fineko/abc.az. Unemployment rates in the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) vary greatly by country.
ABC.AZ informs that in some countries the number of the unemployed is declining rapidly, while in others it is still high.
According to data for 2024, the largest number of the unemployed in the CIS is registered in Russia - 1.915 million people, while in 2010 this figure was 5.5 million. This means a reduction in the number of the unemployed by about 3.6 million people in 14 years.
After Russia, the largest number of the unemployed is observed in Uzbekistan. Their number increased up to 1.56 million in 2020, but declined to 836,400 in 2024. This is the highest rate in the CIS after Russia.
