On September 3, Fineko/abc.az. During January–June 2025, Azerbaijan imported 1,428 tons of pineapples (fresh or dried) worth $1.81 million.

This is 22% more in value compared to the same period in 2024, and 11% less in quantity, ABC.AZ reports, citing the State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 1,244 tons of products (-21%) worth $1.38 million (2% less than the previous year) from Costa Rica, 69 tons (5 times more) worth $282,000 (5 times more) from Thailand, 68.4 tons (34 times more) worth $88,100 (11 times more) from China, 23 tons (no shipments the previous year) worth $27,570 from Panama, and 20.4 tons (no shipments the previous year) worth $24,500 from Belgium. In 2024, out of 2,892 tons of pineapples imported into Azerbaijan, 98.2% came from Costa Rica.
