July 25, Fineko/abc.az. Information about the place of residence and citizenship will be added to the identity card of Azerbaijani citizens.

ABC.AZ reports that President Ilham Aliyev has approved amendments to the Law on the Identity Card of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the same time, only the necessary information will be stored on the electronic media (chip).

In addition, the marital status of a citizen, parents, children, military service and other information will now be stored and cryptographically protected not directly on electronic media, but through IAMAS (an interdepartmental automated information retrieval system).

If a technical or substantive error is found in a document or on an electronic medium, the correction will be made without charging a state fee.
