July 17, Fineko/abc.az. Swedish automaker Volvo Car suffered a net loss in the 2nd quarter of this year due to one-time write-downs related to the revision of production and sales prospects for EX90 and ES90 vehicles.
ABC.AZ informs, referring to a press release from Volvo Cars, that the net loss for April-June amounted to $769 million. However, during the same period of 2024, the company made net profit of 5.35 billion crowns.
Car sales for Q2 of 2025 decreased by 12% to 181,600 cars.
Company's press release notes that this year is challenging for the automotive industry and, in particular, for Volvo Cars due to the difficult macroeconomic environment, increasing competition and uncertainty regarding tariffs.
