May 5, Fineko/abc.az. In 2024, revenues from rail freight transportation in Azerbaijan declined by 1.5% versus 2023 to 424 million manats.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee that revenues from imported goods increased by 13.7%, and from export goods by 12.8%. Revenues from transit cargo remained stable.

Revenues on imported goods grew by 13.7% up to 111.55 million manats, while revenues on export goods decreased by 12.8% to 86.63 million manats. Revenues from transit cargo remained stable. The volume of transit cargo amounted to 172.84 million manats.

According to the SSC, the volume of international shipments increased by 3%, reaching 15.5 million tons. This increase was linked mainly with a 10% rise on imported goods and a 6.2% increase on transit goods. Instead, a 13.4% drop on export deliveries was recorded. Domestic supplies declined by 4.9% compared with 2023.

Cargo turnover amounted to 7 billion tons-km, an increase of 4.3%. Of this turnover, 6.36 billion tons-km accounted for international transportation.
