Growth of 62% recorded on Trans-Caspian route traffic

April 11, Fineko/abc.az. In 2024, supplies via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route increased by 62% and amounted to 4.5 million tons, ABC.AZ informs, citing Kazakh Transport Minister Murat Karabayev’s report to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Reporting on the results of Transport Ministry's activities last year, Karabayev noted that Kazakhstani airlines recorded an increase of 10%, transported 14.7 million passengers, served 29.7 million people at airports (a rise of 14%), 21 million passengers were transported by rail (a rise of 3.9%).

In 2025, the Ministry of Transport plans to launch 19 new air routes to destinations in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Construction of Katon-Karagai, Zaisan and Kendirli airports has begun.
