April 8, Fineko/abc.az. There is a sharp rise in egg prices in Turkey.
ABC.AZ informs that newspaper Ekonomim newspaper writes about this.
It was noted that since December 2024, the cost of a package of 30 eggs has increased from 120 liras (5 AZN) to 250 liras (nearly 12 manats).
At the same time, although in some places you can buy eggs for 170-180 liras, in some stores you can see an increase in prices to 310 liras (close to 14 manats): “Labeled as organic eggs exceed 400 liras (18 manats).”
The newspaper writes that the main reason for the rise in egg prices in the country are lucrative export contracts with other countries, in particular with the U.S. In 2024, 74.4 million eggs from Turkey entered the U.S. market. An additional 280 million eggs are to be shipped by July 2025.
